Azure Ray Come Out Of The Three-way Tiebreaker On Top
Only one set of tiebreakers was needed for the Elite League Group Stage. It was a three-way tiebreaker between G2.iG, Azure Ray, and PSG Quest, playing for a spot in the Upper Bracket.
Thankfully, there were no infinite tiebreakers, as Azure Ray could win both their games to join Team Falcons, Team Falcons, and Xtreme Gaming in the Upper Bracket.
The first series of the day was between PSG Quest and Azure Ray. The Chinese squad built and maintained a comfortable 10,000 net worth lead. However, a successful team fight helped the MENA roster find a way back into the game. Still, Azure Ray’s Song of the Siren into Static Storm combo proved to be a menace in the late game and allowed Lou and company to eventually win the game.
Next on the list was G2.iG versus PSG Quest. The match wasn’t too interesting, as G2.iG could easily clean up PSG Quest in a fast 37-minute game. In particular, the off lane duo of JT- and BoBoKa played exceptionally well to contribute to the team’s success.
The two results meant G2.iG and Azure Ray would directly compete for the Upper Bracket spot. Unfortunately, the confrontation wasn’t too exciting, as Azure Ray could dominate the laning stage and quickly end the game in only 31 minutes.
Azure Ray survived the tiebreakers, concluding the Elite League Group Stage. Here is how the Playoff bracket has shaped into.
Only eight teams remain in the Playoffs, which will begin tomorrow.
