BetBoom Team Wins Their First Tournament At BLAST Slam I

The BetBoom Team took down Tundra Esports in 3 - 1 fashion in the Grand Final of BLAST’s first Dota 2 tournament – Blast Slam I. Though they’ve been competing at the highest level for a while now, this marks the first Tier 1 victory for Pure, Save-, gpk~, and MieRo`

It is also worth remembering that the BetBoom Team had to play with gpk~ as a stand-in, as kiyоtaka failed to secure his visa in time.

On the first map of the Best of 5 Grand Final series, 33 tried pulling out a Lycan to surprise the BetBoom Team. However, after the game was delayed, 33’s impact eventually fell off, and the Eastern European squad scaled with their draft to eventually win the game.

Nightfall pulled out a surprising Spectre pick on the second. Though the BetBoom Team had a confident lead, Tundra Esports took an amazing engagement thanks to some great plays from Saksa’s Magnus and turned the tide around. After bringing the gold lead back to even, it was impossible for the Spectre lineup to lose.

The third map was highly competitive. Tundra Esports looked to dominate the mid-game and end it early, but the BetBoom Team had stalling techniques to extend the game. Stand-in gpk~ had an immense impact on his Pangolier that went 11/1/22, essentially carrying the team to a close Game 3 victory.

The fourth game wasn’t too interesting, as the BetBoom Team stomped the game in only 34 minutes. Save-’s Muerta played a crucial role in the victory, going 6/0/17 with 96% kill participation.

With this victory, the BetBoom Team claim $400,000 and look like a real threat in the upcoming ESL One Bangkok 2024 tournament.
