BLAST Announces $1M Tournament – BLAST Slam I
Tournament organizers BLAST, known for being a top-tier organizer in Counter-Strike, is beginning its venture into Dota 2. They will be starting the journey with BLAST Slam I.
BLAST Slam I Overview
The BLAST Slam I tournament will feature $1,000,000 in prize money and run from November 26 to December 1, making it a relatively short tournament.
The tournament is held in the BLAST Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark. Teams will play in a LAN format, but not in front of a crowd.

Ten teams have been directly invited to the tournament. No qualifiers were played at all.

BLAST Slam I Format
Like always, the tournament will begin with a Group Stage:

Ten teams have been divided into two groups of five.

Teams will play in a round-robin format, in which all matches are played in Bo1.

1st place teams will qualify for the Semifinals.

2nd place teams will qualify for the Quarterfinals.

3rd place teams will qualify for Round 2 of the Playoffs.

4th and 5th place teams will qualify for Round 1 of the Playoffs.
Unlike most Dota 2 tournaments, BLAST has made things interesting as teams in the Playoffs will only have one chance:

The Playoffs will feature a single-elimination bracket, meaning no Upper or Lower brackets.

All matches are played in Bo3.

The Grand Final is played in Bo5.
