Clash Of Titans Ends Up With Spirit Making Top Three
The most anticipated matchup of the day ends in the favor of Team Spirit after a close 2-1 series against Team Liquid.
In the first map, Collapse was given his signature Axe and immediately put up a show on the main stage. Team Spirit could connect and take the first map in clean fashion.
Team Liquid was somehow gifted Spirit Breaker, one of the most broken heroes in the tournament so far. Zai’s Spirit Breaker could make enough space for miCKe’s Weaver to farm his items and carry the game through the end.
The third game featured a surprise Riki Mid pick in the hands of Nisha. Team Liquid could dominate the early game and take reasonable control over the series. However, a disastrous fight under Team Liquid’s Tier 2 tower gave Spirit a way back into the game. After a grueling 53 minutes, Team Spirit showed their supremacy to win the series and advance to the next stage.
The God himself, Yatoro, was asked how he was so successful in the tournament so far, to which he selflessly replied:
“I think I just have the best team ever. That’s all.”
In the interview, Yatoro also mentions that if Team Spirit reaches the Grand Final, he expects Team Liquid to become their opponent again.
Team Spirit has secured a top-three finish and will play against the match winner between LGD Gaming and Azure Ray for a spot in the Grand Final. Meanwhile, Team Liquid will have a date with the Gaimin Gladiators in an elimination match.
