Details of the DPC Winter Tour Regional Finals
Last night Valve published details of the DPC Winter Tour Regional Finals. It will be a series of tournaments across 6 regions, each with its own prize pool. These tournaments replace the cancelled Winter Major.
The DPC Winter Tour Regional Finals are focused on the top 4 teams in each region. Each has a prize pool of $100,000 and 380 DPC points. The organizers of the regional leagues will host them. The format is a Double-Elimination bracket where the grand final will be played in a BO5 series with all other matches in a BO3 series.
Regional Finals schedule:
- February 11-13: Europe, SEA, South America
- February 18-20: China, CIS, North America
Prize pool distribution for each final:
- 1st place: $50,000 USD + 250 DPC points
- 2nd place $25,000 USD + 130 DPC points
- 3rd place: $15,000 USD
- 4th place: $10,000 USD
In addition to information on the Regional Finals, Valve revealed changes in qualifying for The International 11. The tournament now features 20 teams instead of 18. Read more about the qualifiers:
- 12 top teams from each region receive a direct invitation to TI
- 6 teams qualify to the TI through regional qualifiers, which means the strongest team from each region qualifies for the tournament.
- 2 teams qualify through the Last Chance Tournament, with the 2nd and 3rd places teams from each region qualifiers
