DLTV Best Player Awards Of 2023, Position 2: Fourth Place
Fourth place in our list of Mid Laners goes to the young Abed, who relocated to North America very young. The Filipino began his career in 2015 when he was only 15 years old! Abed stood out when he joined Execration and was eventually scouted by Digital Chaos.
Abed then joined Fnatic, one of the most storied organizations in Dota 2 at the time, where he achieved outstanding results and solidified his name in the professional scene. That was when Abed made the big decision to join Evil Geniuses (now Shopify Rebellion) along with Arteezy. The EG squad looked extremely prominent on paper but could not achieve many results.
In 2024, Abed felt a little homesick and decided to join Blacklist International, a full-FIlipino squad with some of the biggest names the country has to offer. Unfortunately, they aren’t finding that much success after failing to qualify for BetBoom DACHA Dubai 2024 and DreamLeague Season 22.
Abed's results in 2023 with Shopify Rebellion weren’t the best:
- 4th place at The ima Major 2023
- 10th place at Berlin Major 2023
- 10th place at The Bali Major 2023
- 16th place at Riyadh Masters 2023
- 2nd place at DreamLeague S21
- 16th place at The International 12
- 9th place at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023
Still, despite lackluster performances and achievements, Abed showed that his skill didn’t disappear with age. The prodigy played 173 maps with a 55% win rate and 30 different heroes, which is a lot for a Mid Laner.
His top three heroes were:
- Storm Spirit (26 Games, 65% Win Rate)
- Ember Spirit (19 Games, 69% Win Rate)
- Leshrac (14 Games, 60% Win Rate)

Abed stood out in DreamLeague Season 21, his best tournament of last year, where Shopify Rebellion placed second after Team Spirit:
