DLTV Best Player Awards Of 2023, Position 3: Second Place
This will probably come out as a shocker, but we've given Xxs second place in the Off Laner list due to extreme levels of individual overperformance. Before you start throwing tomatoes at us, perhaps the Chinese player did not generate a lot of highlight reels and only won one tournament in 2023, but his monstrous statistics have been overlooked.
Xxs entered the professional Dota 2 scene in 2015, when he was only 16 years young. Starting from Invictus Gaming's academy roster, IG.Vitality, Xxs worked his way up and made a name for himself. In 2017, his efforts were recognized, and the young gun was promoted to the main team.
After a great stint with Invictus Gaming, Xxs continued his career in Team Aster, where he solidified his name globally. He even got to play with SumaiL, but their time together could have been more successful.
As we all know, Xxs found himself in Azure Ray, where the new roster pulled off a miracle run at ESL One Kuala Lumpur. However, he was immediately transferred to Xtreme Gaming, where he will play in, on paper, one of the strongest rosters in the world.
Xxs didn't have comparable results to teams like the Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit, but had a decent year:
- 7-8th place at The Lima Major 2023
- 11-12th place at DreamLeague S19
- 7-8th place at Berlin Major 2023
- 8th place at DreamLeague S20
- 9-12th place at The Bali Major 2023
- 7-8th place at Riyadh Masters 2023
- 1st place at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023
Though his team's results weren't great, Xxs could still put up insane numbers (compared to Off Laners only) despite being on the losing team for most of the year:
- Top 1 Average KDA: 4.51
- Top 4 Average Assists Per Game: 11.82
- Top 1 (Least) Average Deaths Per Game: 3.50 (By a landslide)
- Top 2 Average Kill Participation: 66.53%
- Top 4 Average GPM: 519.96
Overall, Xxs isn't the flashiest player, but he has shown extreme levels of consistency by being at the right place at the right time, which can be reflected by his average assists and kill participation. He also chooses his fights very wisely, which is why he is, by far, the Off Laner with the least average deaths.
If you want statistics like these, try playing the three heroes Xxs played the most last year:
- Doom (33 Maps, 33% Win Rate)
- Beastmaster (27 Games, 59% Win Rate)
- Mars (20 Games, 60% Win Rate)
We'll reveal the best Off Laner of 2023 tomorrow, so stay tuned!
