DLTV Best Player Awards Of 2023, Position 5: Third Place
We're moving on to the top three position five players of the year, where TORONTOTOKYO takes third place. Transitioning from a mid-laner to a captain and support is no easy feat, but the 26-year-old is starting to fit his new role quite well.
TORONTOTOKYO made a personal reflection on his performance and results throughout the year:
"The year has ended. It wasn't that bad. For me, the results were satisfactory. I would like more, but not everything is bad. I am pleased with the progress in the fifth position. Over the year I have grown as a player, and now I know more than before. It was a fruitful year for me."
And indeed, it was a fruitful year for TORONTOTOKYO and the BetBoom boys. Though they did not win a single tournament, they made deep runs in the majority of events held in 2023:
- 12th place at DreamLeague S19
- 14th place at Berlin Major 2023
- 2nd place at DreamLeague S20
- 6th place at Riyadh Masters 2023
- 3rd place at DreamLeague S21
- 5th place at The International 12
- 4th place at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023
TORONTOTOKYO's performance has been crucial throughout 2023, as he consistently gave his laning partner Nightfall great lanes. He also topped several statistical criteria relative to other position five players:
- Top 3 Average Assists Per Game: 15.44
- Top 2 Kill Participation: 68.64%
- Top 4 Average Damage Per Game: 11465.2
The Russian player's three most-played heroes include:
- Undying (36 Maps, 67% Win Rate)
- Lich (21 Maps, 71% Win Rate)
- Disruptor (20 Maps, 65% Win Rate)
The BetBoom Team's captain has focused on picking lane-winning heroes to secure Nightfall's lane.
TORONTOTOKYO performed exceptionally well at Riyadh Masters 2023, where the BetBoom Team finished sixth after losing to the Gaimin Gladiators in the Lower Bracket. Though he couldn't place first in the tournament, he did in some statistics among all participants, not just support players:
- Top 1 Average Assists Per Game: 19.68
- Top 1 Kill Participation: 78.7%
The support player also wrote his name in the history of Dota, as he had 12998 HP on his signature Undying in their Ti12 match against Virtus.Pro.
Tomorrow, we'll announce the second-place finisher in our position five awards.
