DLTV UPDATED TEAM RANKINGS: AUGUST 1

News

The Riyadh Masters has just come to an end, and we’ve seen plenty of surprises. With such a big event concluding, the team rankings have begun to shift. DLTV’s updated rankings for the top ten professional Dota 2 teams are here.

Despite not winning the biggest event of the year, the Gaimin Gladiators are still in first place. Their dominance and consistency throughout the year cannot be undermined, and it’ll take some more effort from other teams to claim the throne of being the best team in the world.

Team Spirit was crowned champions of the Riyadh Masters, taking home $5,000,000. Winning the entire event has allowed Spirit to jump from seventh place all the way to second. The CIS roster has shown that they can play under pressure and are on the trajectory to chase the Gladiators for their title.

Despite Team Liquid’s consistency in making the Grand Finals of significant events, they have yet to prove that they can finish an event as champions. Therefore, they have been demoted by one rank. Still, the gap between them and Spirit is only an arm’s length.

The BetBoom Team remains in fourth place. They are considered serious competitors but have struggled to get the job done at LAN events.

Tundra has lost two placings, primarily due to Saksa’s absence in the past two events. A Tundra without full force cannot reach their full potential, and their disappointing finish at Riyadh shows that. Hopefully, we’ll see Saksa back in action for The International to give Tundra a chance at repeating a TI win.

Talon Esports finished a respectable third place in Riyadh, bumping their ranking by five. They now sit in sixth place. We all can see that this Southeast Asian roster is brimming with potential. 9 Pandas sit right behind Talon after bumping up one rank to sit at seventh.

PSG.LGD has dropped by three ranks due to a disappointing performance in Bali and Riyadh. The Chinese team was expected to make deep runs in these two events but couldn’t manage to.

Evil Geniuses stay static at ninth place. Despite their upsetting 9th-12th finish at Riyadh, the South American roster has shown promising results earlier in the year, allowing them to remain in the top ten.

Finally, Shopify Rebellion is taking up the final spot in the top ten. The roster has been very disappointing recently, and we might see them exit the top ten if they don’t fix their problems soon enough.
