DreamLeague Group Stage 2 Second Day Recap

News
Published at: 2023-06-17 23:29:00

Day two of DreamLeague Season 20’s second phase was a highly entertaining day of Dota 2. A total of four series were played, with so many back-and-forth games. If you missed the action, here’s a quick recap.

Team Spirit takes out 9 Pandas in a CIS derby from a massive comeback in Game 2, PSG.LGD stun Gaimin Gladiators 2-0, Talon Esports find form to send Aster to the drawing board, and BetBoom defeats Evil Geniuses in a tight series. Check out the games to watch for the day!

Games To Watch

Team Spirit vs. 9 Pandas - Game 2

In the second map of the highly anticipated Eastern European matchup, kiyotaka was able to get his hands on his famous Tinker but was countered by Larl’s Zeus. The counter-pick didn’t seem to matter as 9 Pandas heavily dominated the game, with a 9,000 gold lead at 26 minutes.

Things got out of control since then, and both teams were able to trade team fight after team fight to create a very intense game of Dota. Despite kiyotaka’s Tinker dealing a whopping 114,000 hero damage, Yatoro’s Phantom Lancer became too much for 9 Pandas, and Team Spirit were able to close the game out.

Gaimin Gladiators vs. PSG.LGD - Game 2

Game 2 of GG versus PSG.LGD seemed like it would end early, as the Gladiators had an 18,000 gold lead by the 30-minute mark. It felt like we were seeing the best team in the world perform to their standards.

However, disaster struck as niu’s Axe got a two-person Berserker’s Call onto Gaimin’s two big cores. An Ice Blast was followed up to kill dyrachyo’s Morphling and Quinn’s Leshrac in seconds.

The Gladiators spent buybacks to try to salvage the fight, but shiro came in late with a Chronosphere to send Quinn’s Leshrac to die right after buying back. PSG.LGD could pull off a massive comeback for the second game in a row.

Evil Geniuses vs. BetBoom - Game 1

EG and BetBoom clashed in the group stage, and the result fans got was some very chaotic Dota 2. There were so many skirmishes and team fights to keep the game entertaining.

Game 1 of the series was very back-and-forth, and it was anyone’s game up until the 48-minute mark, where Pakazs on Bloodseeker was able to man-fight Nightfall’s Terrorblade in a massive team fight. EG converted the team fight victory to knock on BetBoom’s high ground and end the game.
