EHOME has quit Dota 2
Chinese Esports organization EHOME has announced its departure from the Dota 2 discipline. The club announced this on its official page on Weibo.
The organization said that the decision was influenced by significant financial problems and the recent ban of all players on the team. On its social media, it detailed the situation:
EHOME faced financial problems in 2020. The company signed a three-way partnership with Esports clubs LGD and Blade Technology. These companies became management agents for EHOME's Dota 2 division. After TI11 ended, due to the pandemic and other related reasons, the club's performance continued to decline. It led to the termination of the partnership. We could not find a new suitable partner, so we decided to leave Dota 2. But LGD and Blade Technology resold our slot in the DPC: China to a third party. The new slot owner changed the team name to Unity Gaming, which led to the renaming of EHOME-related accessories in the game. This damaged the interests of most players and fans who collect virtual team items. Perfect World denied our request to cancel the DPC slot and the team ID. To protect most players' virtual items, we had to make concessions. Therefore, the new team continued to use the name EHOME to participate in the DPC 2023.
EHOME was among the first to assemble a Dota 2 roster, and its team participated in The International 2011. After EHOME announced their departure from the discipline, only 2 organizations remained that also played in that championship – Invictus Gaming and Natus Vincere.
