Elite League Season 2 Group Stage Results
Though it might not feel like it, there is an $800,000 tournament currently ongoing, which is Elite League Season 2.
The Group Stage of the tournament followed the Swiss format, where teams would have to win three matches to advance, and lose three matches to get eliminated – whichever comes first.
After a few days of grueling Dota 2 action, the Group Stage of the Elite League has ended. Here are the results:
It doesn’t come off as too much of a surprise that Team Liquid and OG are the two teams that had a flawless run. It is worth noting that Ceb is absent for this tournament, and is being replaced by Kaori.
Despite losing their Carry player, Shopify Rebellion isn’t looking too shabby with Pakazs, as they went 3-1 in the Swiss Stage, dropping one match against Team Liquid.
Unfortunately, King’s LAN debut ended in failure as Yellow Submarine lost their final series against BOOM Esports to go out of the tournament with a 2-3 record.
Now that half of the teams have been weeded out, there is a second group stage with the eight remaining teams. The second Group Stage will follow the classic Round-robin format, where all matches are in Best of 2 format.
Elite League Season 2 is an offline tournament held in Lima, Peru. The event features a prize pool of $800,000, and will run from 25 July to 4 August.
