Elite League Will Compensate Teams That Fail To Qualify For The Closed Qualifier
Tournament organizers FISSURE and ESB have announced more details to the upcoming Elite League tournament.
Dmitry Novokshonov, head of the eSports department at FISSURE, has announced that the Elite League tournament will distribute prize money to teams that were just shy of making it to the Closed Qualifier:
“When dividing the prize fund, we sought not only to take into account the importance of first place, but also to maintain motivation for less experienced teams, encouraging their desire to prove themselves and receive prize money. In addition, we have allocated prize money for teams that are one step away from a slot in the closed qualifiers. We hope that this distribution of the prize fund will increase the motivation of all participants in our tournament and lead to more vibrant and emotional matches.”
Depending on regions, the teams who miss the Closed Qualifiers will receive a little over $5,000. This gesture will support the Tier 3 scene, providing motivation and financial support for lesser-known teams to improve and try again next time. Qualifier matches become more meaningful, allowing for more entertaining Dota to be played.
Further distribution of prize money:
1st place - $300,000
2nd place - $150,000
3rd place - $80,000
4th place - $50,000
