Gaimin Gladiators Send Evil Geniuses and 9 Pandas Packing
Surprisingly, the most successful team of the year had to start their run through the Lower Bracket, where many scary teams reside. On the 21st of October, the Gladiators were tasked to play two Lower Bracket matches, assuming they won the first one.
Their first Lower Bracket match was against Evil Geniuses. No upset for the Gladiators today, as they could clean up the series with ease.
The first map completely controlled the Gladiators, but they had a hard time ending the game. After 69 minutes, the Gaimin Gladiatorscould finally force the game to end.
Game 2 was an easier task, as the Gladiators could convincingly win the second map to close the series 2-0.
Three hours later, the boys had to play against 9 Pandas, a team who had just fallen to the Lower Bracket after a 0-2 loss against LGD Gaming. Quinn could face his arch nemesis, RAMZES and eliminate him from The International, which was what ended up happening.
The match between Gaimin Gladiators and 9 Pandas was not close at all. GG could win the first map in 19 minutes, making it one of the fastest matches in TI history. The second game wasn’t much different, as Gaimin took an early lead and snowballed their way to a 32-minute win.
With these results, the Gladiators look like they are back in form, securing top eight in the tournament. Their next match is against Nouns and will happen on the 28th of October.
