Gamers Galaxy Owe Polaris $30,000 From Tournament Winnings
One year ago, tournament organizers Gamers Galaxy hosted the Gamers Galaxy: Invitational Series Thailand 2022, a $150,000 tournament featuring the best Southeast Asian teams. This tournament ended on the 20th of August in 2022, one year ago.
Polaris Esports took second place in the tournament after losing the Grand Final to BOOM Esports. By finishing second in the tournament, Polaris should be paid $30,000. However, the Filipino organization announced on their Facebook page that they have yet to be paid the money.
RosesaGaming, a Twitter personality, reached out to the manager of BOOM Esports, Zac Alfon, to ask him about the situation. Zac mentioned that BOOM Esports was paid $75,000 for their first-place finish in the tournament but was only paid for it in July 2023, eleven months after the tournament ended.
