March3llo reveals a full list of DPC leagues rules
Epic Esports Events General Manager Mark "March3llo" Averbukh has published a complete list of DPC Regional League rules for the CIS region. In this article, we'll point out some important items. The full list is available here - DPC League Rules.
Rules regarding coaches of teams
Coaches shouldn't be present in the room with players during matches. They are only permitted to communicate with their team during the draft. The rest of the time, any communication between them is prohibited.
There were 2 cases during the DPC Winter Season when this rule was broken. First, Daniil "MeTTpuM" Gilev of Entity Gaming was caught on camera footage of players during a match, and later Kanishka "BuLba" Sosale of Evil Geniuses was in a similar situation. In both cases, the organizers didn't penalize the teams.
Penalties for substituting players during the DPC season
Any team that removes a player will incur a 15% penalty to their current DPC point total at the time of the removal.
Any team that removes a player after securing a slot at a Major will incur a 20% penalty on DPC Points earned during that event, in addition to the normal Player Removal Penalty.
Unfortunately, the rulebook doesn't explain whether the penalties only affect the Majors, or the Regional Finals also belong to this list. Recall that T1 and BOOM esports from Southeast Asia made substitutions after qualifying for the Regional Finals.
Pauses during matches
In online matches, participants are responsible for securing their internet connections and preparing a backup solution in case of a technical outage. Each participant is allotted 10 minutes of in-game pause time per map.
During a tie-break in the DPC: SEA Upper Division for the right to keep a slot between Motivate.Trust and Execration, this rule was used. Motivate.Trust member Worawit "Q" Mekchai lost its connection in the middle of the match and couldn't connect for over 10 minutes. The team was forced to play with four players. Execration won, and Motivate.Trust fell to the Lower Division.
