NA Qualifiers Day 3: Nouns Power Through Wildcard; B8 Survives; Two More Teams Eliminated
There has been lots of development in the North American Regional Qualifiers. Here’s what happened today!
Nouns 2-1 Wildcard Gaming
The spiciest match of the day was Nouns taking on Wildcard Gaming in the Upper Bracket, the favorites to make it through the qualifiers. Fortunately for K1 and the boys, they could take the series after a close 2-1 and send Wildcard Gaming to the Lower Bracket.
The first was an intense 56-minute game where Nouns came out on top at the end. In Map 2, Wildcard Gaming’s Mid Laner RCY played a clean game on his Tiny, carrying Wildcard Gaming with a KDA of 11/0/11. However, Nouns could close out the series in the third game to take the win.
Team DogChamp 2-1 Felt
The second Upper Bracket match was between Team DogChamp and Felt. DogChamp struck first with a clean win on the first map, but Felt returned after winning a close second game. Still, it wasn’t enough for Felt as DogChamp won the decider in only 31 minutes.
Team DogChamp will face Nouns in the Upper Bracket Final for a spot in the Grand Final.
Sand King Gomez 0-2 B8
Onto the Lower Brackets, we have Sand King Gomez against fan-favorites B8 Esports. B8 were heavy favorites in this series, and their new players didn’t disappoint.
B8’s Carry player V-Tune didn’t die a single time this whole series, going 11/0/9 with Faceless Void in Game 1 and 9/0/7 with Gyrocopter in Game 2. B8’s TI hopes are kept alive as they will live to see another day.
American Goons 2-0 The Cut
American Goons took on The Cut in a very tight match. The first game was incredibly close, but the American Goons could win in 46 minutes with a Mid Earthshaker from MTD.
In the second game, The Cut played much cleaner and took complete control of the game. The Cut had a 19,000 gold lead at 41 minutes, but somehow, the American Goons turned it around and made an incredible comeback, this time with a Mid Troll Warlord.
Updated Brackets
With two teams being eliminated, the North American bracket has developed into this:
