Natus Vincere's coach, Andrey "Mag" Chipenko, who was supposed to play for the team as a stand-in, passed a positive test for COVID-19 before departure. Previously, two main team members, Bogdan "Iceberg" Vasilenko and Andrey "ALWAYSWANNAFLY" Bondarenko, also tested positive for COVID-19 and were forced to miss the tournament. Another stand-in, Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev, flew to the venue before the announcement and is on his way to Singapore.
As noted in the announcement, other players on the team also began to feel worse despite the negative tests. This fact and the inability to find another substitution in a short time became the reasons for withdrawal from participating in the Major.
Natus Vincere took second place in the first season of DPC: CIS and should have started their performance at the tournament from the group stage. Apparently, 3 tickets to the next stage will be drawn in the Wild Card now.
