Nouns Stun Team Spirit With A 2-0 Upset, Sending Them To The Lower Bracket
Most fans thought today’s match ups would be one-sided all the way, but Nouns have cooked up something amazing. Against all odds, the sole North American squad took down Team Spirit, the 6-0 team that chose them as their opponents.
The first map started off very slow, and the game was dead-even by the 40-minute mark. Nouns could take the game-deciding fight after kiting Team Spirit very well, taking the lead. The lead they had built up was enough to allow Yuma’s Luna to snowball out of control and win the map with a 12/2/8 score.
It seemed like Team Spirit was still confident going into the second game, allowing Nouns to pick four of the same heroes from the first game. Team Spirit went for a gamble to win the early game, picking Batrider Mid for Larl.
Though the TI winners had a good start to the early game, they started losing control after Copy turned the game around with a nice gank. Nouns, with the same draft, got the opportunity to snowball the game and pull off an incredible upset. Yuma had another impeccable performance on Luna going 10/2/13.
Despite a flawless Group Stage run, this loss meant Team Spirit will begin their Playoff run through the Lower Bracket, while Nouns steal an Upper Bracket slot from the reigning champions.
