OG Ends China’s Run At ESL One Birmingham
The crowd favorites, OG, continue their run at Birmingham after eliminating G2.iG in the Lower Bracket with a 2-0 result. Being the last Chinese representatives in the event, G2.iG shattered the hopes of their region, settling for 5-6th place.
In the first map, Bzm's Templar Assassin was off to a flying start, quickly taking over the game. NothingToSay could not get anything done on his Storm Spirit, as OG was always prepared to counter-initiate. The game was a quick 35-minute victory for the Western European squad.
OG, again, dominated the laning stage in the following map. However, they made slight blunders when attempting to siege high-ground. The Chinese continued to find more pickoffs and steal Roshan away from Ceb and company to find themselves back in the game.
However, a well-executed team fight for OG helped them reclaim the lead, and quickly took G2.iG’s buildings with their Luna lineup.
After 54 minutes of play, OG could finally close the map and series.
G2.iG is forced to exit the tournament, while OG will play against Team Falcons in another elimination match later today.
