Overview of DPC Western Europe Division One Matches for May 26

The schedule for the DPC Western Europe region is packed on May 26, with three Best of 3s being played. Up first is a revenge match for Team Liquid against OG, followed by a spicy series between Team Secret and Entity, and finished with Quest against D1 Hustlers.

Team Liquid 2-0 OG

OG were responsible for knocking Team Liquid down to the Lower Bracket at the Berlin Major, and it was time for Liquid to get their revenge.

Game 1

In Game 1, Liquid had a prominent draft that synergizes with Zai’s Magnus, running Bloodseeker on m1CKe and Ember Spirit on Nisha. Though the laning phase was even, Team Liquid took an early 5,000 lead at the 15-minute mark. 

15-minute onwards was a complete disaster for OG, as Team Liquid got kills on every side of the map and repeatedly picked off both OG supports. 33 minutes were too much for OG, as they were forced to tap out. Nisha’s Ember Spirit ended the game 8/0/17, but m1CKe’s Bloodseeker was the clear MVP with a KDA of 15/1/10.

Game 2

OG drafted better lanes in Game 2, and Yuragi’s Monkey King completely vanquished his lane, giving OG an early net worth lead. However, OG threw their lead after taking a horrendous team fight at the top side of the map, giving Liquid the gold lead. 

The game stayed relatively even until a massive team fight at the 30-minute mark happened in the bottom Roshan area, where Liquid won the fight convincingly after a buyback from m1CKe. Liquid was able to take Roshan and take control of the entire game, eventually ending it 39 minutes in.

Team Secret 0-2 Entity

The second series for May 26 is the most evenly matched one, with Team Secret facing off against Entity, both teams sitting at a 1-3 record. The loser of this matchup will likely have no chance to qualify for the Bali Major.

Game 1 - Game To Watch

As we’d expect from two evenly skilled teams, the laning phase came out even, and the game continued to go stale until a big team fight happened outside the top Roshan pit at the 26-minute mark. Entity won the fight and claimed the Aegis on watson’s Morphling. Though Entity managed to build up a slight gold lead after the fight, Secret were able to pick off Entity supports and stall the Aegis timer without losing much.

At the 33rd minute, Entity were only up by 3,000 gold, considering the game to be pretty even. But, a massive team fight occurred in the Middle Lane, where Entity won the fight convincingly, giving them absolute control of the game. The net worth lead rose from 3,000 to 12,000 in the span of one minute. Entity converted this lead into a Game 1 victory at the 42-minute mark, with watson having a flawless game, ending 9/0/11.

Game 2

Game 2 was a clear outdraft for the side of Entity, as watson was able to get a 24th pick Phantom Lancer against the Templar Assassin of Crystallis. Entity stomped Team Secret in lanes, building up a 2,000 net worth lead 10 minutes into the game. 

All three Entity cores had completely free games, and Team Secret couldn’t win a single fight. Team Secret only managed to kill an Entity core once, being Stormstormer on his Pangolier, and chose to call GG at the 35-minute mark.

D1 Hustlers 2-1 Quest Esports

D1 Hustlers will be playing against Quest Esports to end the day. D1 Hustlers are sitting 0-3 in the Group Stage, while Quest has a score of 2-2. Quest were clear favorites in this matchup, but D1 Hustlers had something else to say.

Game 1

Quest looked like they had a solid scaling draft for Game 1, but D1 Hustlers completely blew Quest out of the laning stage, even with Thiolicor playing Doom as Position 4. Game 1 turned into a complete stomp in favor of D1 Hustlers, as they used their early net worth and level advantage to take absolute control of the map. Shad’s Medusa was incredibly farmed, and Quest had no option but to call GG 28 minutes in.

Game 2

To bounce back into the series, Quest had a unique approach by having ATF play on Slark in the Offlane. The plan didn’t work out at first, as D1 Hustlers were able to win the laning phase and claim a 4,000 net worth lead at 16 minutes. However, Quest didn’t want to get 0-2’d and got their stuff together. 

Despite Shad’s Medusa once again finding massive farm, all three Quest cores could still hit their timings to help them win a significant team fight at the 32-minute mark. This team fight win helped Quest build an enormous net worth lead to take this series to three maps.

Game 3 - Game To Watch

In the decider Game 3, Quest drafted comfort heroes on all five of their players, while D1 Hustlers went for heroes that excel in the current meta, drafting Medusa, Void Spirit, and Spirit Breaker.

Quest had a slight 1,000 net worth lead at the end of the laning phase, but the game was still pretty even. D1 Hustlers were able to win an important fight at the 17-minute mark to put them ahead of Quest. Just like the previous two games, Shad’s Medusa was able to top the net worth charts, but credit should be given to adzantick, who finished the 48-minute game 15/2/15 on his Void Spirit.
