PGL Wallachia Season 1 Swiss Stage Results
The final day of the PGL Wallachia Season 1 Group Stage has ended. Shopify Rebellion, the BetBoom Team, and Team Secret were forced to leave the tournament.
BOOM Esports 2-1 Shopify Rebellion
BOOM Esports successfully took down Shopify Rebellion in the elimination match.
In the first map, Shopify Rebellion obliterated the South Americans in 26 quick minutes after SumaiL’s Templar Assassin was left unaddressed. However, BOOM equalized the series after Pakazs had a free Bristleback game to carry the second map.
The decisive map was close, but a BOOM won a massive team fight to take the series. In that crucial fight, Arteezy did not pop his Black King Bar and died without buyback. After the series, he tweeted that he could not activate it and that it was very weird.
BetBoom Team 1-2 G2.iG
The BetBoom Team dropped the ball against G2.iG, and faced an early elimination from the tournament.
The first map was easily won by the Chinese squad. Though all players contributed to the win, BoBoKa took the spotlight on his position four Clinkz, going 7/1/10. In the second map, the BetBoom Team showed what they were made of, destroying G2.iG with a kill score of 29-2.
The third game was a massive farm fest, with MieRo`’s Enigma only casting essentially one Black Hole the entire game. Monet displayed a great performance on his Templar Assassin, getting an Ultra Kill in the game-deciding fight. Despite a 39-minute game, the BetBoom Team only posted eight kills and got eliminated from the tournament.
The PGL staff tried to grab a BetBoom member for a post-game interview, but the entire team immediately left the venue after the match, likely because they were tilted.
Team Liquid 2-0 Team Secret
The final map of the Group Stage was between Team Liquid and Team Secret, which was an action-packed series.
Team Secret took an early 5,000 net worth lead in the first game, but Liquid found a good fight to swing the game their way. Team Secret’s Io + Sniper combination was working well, helping them take the lead back. However, BOOM made a crucial mistake on Enigma, which resulted in Team Liquid making a comeback to win the map.
In the second map, Team Liquid maintained the net worth lead for the entire game, but Team Secret put up a great fight. Nisha and miCKe were running away with the game, but it wouldn’t be a Team Liquid match without some throws. miCKe ’s Weaver fed a few times, allowing Team Secret to make the game competitive. However, Team Liquid showed superiority in team fights and closed the map after 56 minutes.
