Philippine players can't return home after The International 10
Philippine Esports players who competed at The International 10 cannot return home and were stuck in Romania. Three days ago, on October 16, the Philippines stopped air links with Romania due to the escalating COVID-19 situation.
Team Fnatic athletic director Eric "Reinnnn" Khor said that all players had tickets for October 18 and 19 and could not fly back to their home country. There are currently 5 Philippine Esportsmen in Romania:
- ??Djardel Jicko B. "DJ" Mampusti;
- ??Marc Polo Luis "Raven" Fausto;
- ??Abed "Abed" Azel L. Yusop;
- ??Carlo "Kuku" Palad;
- ??Karl "Karl" Baldovino.
In addition to the players, several of the teams' coaches and support staff have faced the same problem. Reinnnn asked the community for help, as the players themselves couldn't find a way out of this situation.
The International 10 took place from October 7 to 17 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The tournament featured 18 teams from different regions to compete for the prize of $40,018,195.
