Riyadh Group Stage Day 4: Western Europe Dominates Group B; MOUZ First Team To Exit
The first meaningful day of the Riyadh Masters 2024 Group Stage has ended, with three teams securing Upper Bracket slots for the Playoffs. Meanwhile, we also got our first elimination from the Group Stage, as MOUZ will leave the tournament.
Group A Recap
The first group remains highly competitive, as there are no fixed results yet. Four teams are still tied for first place, with the Gaimin Gladiators, OG, Team Falcons, and Team Spirit having identical 7-5 records.
Aurora, despite having a horrendous Day 1, came back and are sitting at 5th place with a 6-6 record. Heroic and LGD Gaming are currently tied for 6-7th place, while Blacklist International is sitting at the bottom.
Still, any team could find themselves in the Upper Bracket or eliminated, since the scores of the group are super tight.
Group B Recap
The results in Group B are more apparent, with Tundra Esports, Entity Gaming, and Team Liquid booking Upper Bracket slots after Day 4 with incredible win rates.
WBG.XG closely trails the three teams in fourth place, and will likely be the fourth team to advance to the Upper Bracket from Group B. Surprisingly, PSG Quest is doing well in the tournament, slightly above the BetBoom Team by one point.
The Eastern European squad can no longer make it to the Upper Bracket, and are instead at risk of elimination. The BetBoom Team is only one point ahead of beastcoast, and could find themselves in big trouble if they don’t perform well in their series against Tundra Esports tomorrow.
Unfortunately, MOUZ has already been eliminated from the tournament with their disappointing 1-11 score.
Tomorrow marks the final day of the Riyadh Masters Group Stage, and nothing in Group A has been set in stone.
