Riyadh Masters 2024 Group Stage Results
The Group Stage of the Riyadh Masters 2024 has finally come to an end after grueling days of Dota 2 action. Unfortunately, 4 teams have been sent home, and only 12 teams remain.
Group A Results
Team Falcons made a commendable resurgence, as we have come to expect with the most impressive team of the year. The MENA squad started the first day with a horrendous 0-4 record, but managed to end the Group Stage with a 9-5 record.
Team Spirit and OG could only win one series in 2-0 fashion, and drew six of their matches to obtain an 8-6 record. The Gaimin Gladiators also share the same record, which is why these three teams were tied for 2nd to 4th place, securing Upper Bracket slots from Group A.
Aurora also had a rough start to the Group Stage, but made a comeback and ended their campaign with a 7-7 score, enough to secure a spot in the Lower Bracket. The final team to make it out of Group A is LGD Gaming, who drew six matches and lost one, totaling a 6-8 record. The Chinese squad barely made it out of the Play-ins, and again, made it past the Group Stage with the skin of their teeth.
The two teams to take the bullet are Heroic and Blacklist International, both with only 5 points. The pair will bid farewell to the competition here in Riyadh.
Group B Results
Group B was more apparent than the first group, as three Western European teams dominated the top-three positions.
Entity Gaming and Tundra Esports are seriously on a run, both going 11-3, posting the best record in the entire Group Stage. Team Liquid isn’t too far behind with 9 points to finish third. The final Upper Bracket slot is claimed by the Chinese titans, WBG.XG, who went 8-6.
The two Lower Bracket slots were claimed by PSG Quest and the BetBoom Team. The hometown heroes displayed a decent performance in the Group Stage, but it wasn’t enough to land them a top-four finish. However, the BetBoom barely scraped by with a negative 5-9 record.
Sadly, beastcoast and MOUZ will exit the tournament after going 4-10 and 2-12, respectively.
There will be a one-day break before the Playoffs begin, and four Upper Bracket matches will be played on the 16th of July.
