SA Qualifiers Day 4: South American Qualifiers Ending Tomorrow
On day four of the South American Qualifiers, we had the first representative, Keyd Stars, qualify for The International 2023. Since South America is given two slots, the final team’s qualification will be decided tomorrow.
Infinity Esports 1-2 Mad Kings
The first matchup in round three of the Lower Bracket involved Infinity Esports and Mad Kings.
Infinity Esports easily took the first game after a fantastic performance from Lumiere’s Gyrocopter, who ended the game 11/0/8. However, after a close second game, Mad Kings edged out Infinity Esports to tie the series.
Mad Kings closed the series in the third game after Adrian went 10/2/10 on his Gyrocopter. Infinity Esports has seen the end of their TI run while Mad Kings move on.
Thunder Awaken 2-1 Qhali
Thunder Awaken was heavy favorites coming into their matchup against Qhali, but the game got dicey when Qhali won the first game.
Still, without too many issues, Thunder Awaken could outplay Qhali to deny the upset and advance to round four of the Lower Bracket, where they will play against Mad Kings.
Keyd Stars 2-0 Acatsuki
The final series of the day was a qualification match between Keyd Stars and Acatsuki. Keyd Stars simply was the better team today, as they took out Acatsuki 2-0 effortlessly.
Keyd Stars became the first South American representative through the qualifiers. At the same time, Acatsuki will play the winner of Thunder Awaken and Mad Kings for the final SA slot for The International.
Updated Brackets
With Keyd Stars qualifying for TI already, only three teams remain in the competition. Only one of the three will book their flights to Seattle.
All will be concluded tomorrow, so stay tuned!
