Taiga Retires From Competitive Play
On Twitter, the Norwegian Support player announced that he has retired from professional Dota 2 and will transition to a full-time streamer. He is also doing some Dota 2 coaching on the side.
In October 2023, Taiga opened up about his gambling addiction that affected not only his performance in Dota but his life and relationships, too. After making it public, Taiga announced his motivation to return to competitive Dota and relocated to Southeast Asia to join BLEED Esports.
However, his time at BLEED did not go as expected, as the team displayed disappointing performances. The lack of results resulted in Taiga leaving the team and returning to Europe. Taiga played with Level Up for a little bit but eventually left.
Taiga's most significant achievements throughout his Dota 2 career:
- 1st place at ESL One Malaysia 2022 (With OG)
- 1st place at ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 (With OG)
- 1st place at ESL One Germany 2020 (With Team Liquid)
- 1st place at Dota Summit 10 (With Alliance)
He is currently at 11,000 MMR and plans to reach 12,000 MMR while streaming on Twitch. Let’s wish him the best of luck!
