Team Aurora Forced To Exit From DreamLeague Season 22

We bid farewell to the first eliminated team from the second Group Stage. Team Aurora had to fly from Southeast Asia to bootcamp in Europe, and will unfortunately go home without a trophy. Team Falcons continue their perfect streak, while Team Spirit picks up a much-needed victory. 

BetBoom Team 2-1 Gaimin Gladiators

The BetBoom Team had recently lost their first series against the Falcons yesterday but continued their dominance against the Gladiators. 

In the first map, the Gladiators destroyed the laning stage. Being top net worth, Ace bought Radiance on Mars to counter Nightfall’s Phantom Lancer. However, the BetBoom Team managed to avoid fights and delay the game until it was late. Eventually, the bookmakers had a better scaling draft and won the game. 

The Gladiators picked Anti-Mage to counter Nightfall’s Medusa in the second game, but dyrachyo had a terrible time in lane. He was destroyed by MieRo and Save, but thankfully, Ace and Quinn had really good games, allowing the Gladiators to essentially win the game 4 versus 5.

The Western European side went for Anti-Mage a second time, but the BetBoom Team did not let that slide. After dominating the laning stage, the TORONTOTOKYO and the team took complete control of the map, eventually winning the game. 

Now, the BetBoom Team sits 4-1, while the Gladiators are in fourth place with a 2-3 record.

Team Falcons 2-0 Xtreme Gaming

The Falcons have looked unstoppable since the beginning of the second Group Stage, and even the best Chinese team could not take them down.

The MENA squad destroyed the early game in the first map, building a convincing lead. However, after a successful high-ground defense, Xtreme Gaming made the game very competitive by bringing it close to even. Still, the Falcons showed their individual prowess and executed the late-game fights nearly flawlessly, getting the job done and winning the first game. 

In the second game, Malr1ne 24th picked Lina against Xm’s Void Spirit. The young prodigy solo killed Xm three times, not allowing the Chinese Mid Laner to play Dota. At one point, Sneyking’s Mirana had almost the same net worth as Xm. The game was a complete stomp in favor of the Falcons, and they closed the series 2-0.

Not dropping a single map, Team Falcons has a score of 10-0. Should we just give them the trophy now?

Team Spirit 2-0 Shopify Rebellion

The two-time TI winners only had one win in the second group stage but improved their score after defeating the North American representatives 2-0.

The net worth lead was dead even going into the mid-game of the first map, but it was only because Shopify Rebellion had an Alchemist. Arteezy, Kitrak, and Thiolicor were 0/5, 0/5, and 0/6, respectively. The two remaining members of Shopify Rebellion tried their hardest, but it was not enough to stop Team Spirit, who ended the game in 30 minutes.

In the second map, Shopify Rebellion built a 6,000 net worth lead at the 15-minute mark after winning the early-game. However, off the backs of Larl’s Puck and Collapse’s Mars, Team Spirit made a comeback to steal the map and end the series 2-0. The position two and three players of Team Spirit ended the game 13/1/14 and 10/1/23.

Team Aurora 1-2 OG

Due to their horrendous record, Team Aurora played a must-win match against OG. Unfortunately, they lost, resulting in their elimination from the tournament. 

Oli drafted himself Terrorblade as the position five. Though we’ve seen the hero being played as a four, a position of five is a first. The Terrorblade pick might not have been the determining factor to the win, as all three Aurora cores played exceptionally well to win the first map.

Team Aurora used their momentum to build an early lead in the second game. However, after OG capitalized on some mistakes, the game became close to even. The game was highly entertaining, with lots of close team fights, buybacks, and, of course, Divine Rapiers. The Aurora boys were winning most of the team fights, but in the final fight, OG pooled all their resources into hitting the throne, which could not be defended. 

In the final map, OG’s Leshrac plus Io combo was not looking too great, allowing Team Aurora to take decent control of the game. However, the newest recruit, Timado, was silently farming a storm on Weaver. With an Aegis, Timado had Revenant’s Brooch, Daedalus, and a Divine Rapier. This combination of items were enough for him to kill 23savage’s Terrorblade in only three hits. After going 11/0/5, the Peruvian helped OG end the game to win the series 2-1.

Team Aurora is the first team to be eliminated, but let’s keep in mind that they were fielding a stand-in throughout the entire tournament – a respectable run. At the end of the second Group Stage, three more teams will join them in elimination.
