Team Falcons and BB Team Send The First Teams Out Of TI13
The second day of Playoffs resulted in four teams leaving the tournament, and Team Falcons and the BetBoom Team were responsible for sending the majority of them home.
BetBoom Team 2-1 Talon Esports
The day started with an elimination match between the BetBoom Team and Talon Esports.
The first game was a total stomp for the Eastern European squad, who looked like they were going to close out the series with a swift 2-0.
Game 2 seemed like the match was already over, as the BetBoom Team had built up a 33,000 net worth lead. However, a miraculous base defense for Talon Esports gave them a slight fighting chance.
However, Akashi’s Morphling got his hands on an Amplify Damage rune before the game-deciding Roshan fight, allowing Talon Esports to surprise the BetBoom Team and take the fight. The Southeast Asian squad marched down the Mid Lane and ended the game through Backdoor Protection, winning it without having a gold lead.
Unfortunately, the success was short-lived, as the BetBoom Team could convert the third map to win the series 2-1, meaning Talon Esports was the first team to go home.
1win Team 2-0 Team Zero
The next series of the day featured the 1win Team and Team Zero, two of the “dark horses” of the event.
Though the match was highly anticipated, the series turned out to be an easy victory for the Eastern European squad. With an easy 2-0 victory, Cloud was the man to watch with a combined KDA of 14/0/23 between both maps. He was responsible for setting the tempo and ending both games quickly.
BetBoom Team 2-0 Nouns
The BetBoom Team returned for their second series of the day after a convincing win against Talon Esports to play against Nouns.
Sadly, North America’s run ends here, as the BetBoom Team simply outclassed Nouns in every aspect to secure a dominant 2-0 win.
The two teams also met during the Group Stage, and the result was a 2-0 victory for the BetBoom Team, so nothing has changed.
Team Falcons 2-0 1win Team
The final series of the day featured Team Falcons taking on the 1win Team.
Though the inexperienced squad had a slight chance of winning coming into this matchup, it seemed like the Falcons were angry about underperforming in their match against Tundra Esports yesterday.
The tournament favorite demolished the 1win team in 32 and 29-minute games and are looking in top shape again.
Tomorrow, three more teams will be eliminated from the tournament.
