Team Falcons - Champions Of BetBoom DACHA Dubai 2024
Team Falcons, the MENA representatives, became the champions of BetBoom DACHA Dubai, defeating Team Liquid in the Grand Final with a clean 3-0 sweep. The Falcons will receive $400,000 for their efforts, while Team Liquid will continue their second-place curse but will take home $200,000.
The new kid on the block, Malr1ne, was crowned the tournament MVP. BetBoom DACHA is his second-ever LAN tournament; what an accomplishment.
Team Falcons finished fourth place in Group A and had to play against Xtreme Gaming, the first seed of Group B. The Falcons could dispose of Ame and co. after a 2-0 victory. Next, Team Falcons continued slaying Chinese teams as they took down Azure Ray 2-1.
In the Upper Bracket Final, the Falcons defeated the hosts, the BetBoom Team, in a close 2-1 series. Finally, Team Liquid would be their final opponent in the tournament.
The Falcons could grab their signature heroes - Mars for ATF, Mirana for Sneyking, and Dragon Knight for Malr1ne. Team Liquid displayed a strong performance throughout the early and mid-game, but naturally, the Falcon's lineup easily outscaled Liquid’s draft. Coming into the late game, skiter’s Gyrocopter was too huge for Team Liquid to deal with, allowing the Falcons to take the first map.
The second map had to be one of the most entertaining games of the entire tournament. Team Liquid had firm control over the game. 33 landed some amazing Ravages on Tidehunter, and Boxi’s Lion caught Malr1ne’s Puck numerous times.
Team Liquid killed off skiter’s Gyrocopter and ATF’s Mars, and it looked like they could end the game. However, skiter bought back and made an all-in play, buying a Divine Rapier. The entire Falcons squad ran down mid, taking Liquid’s Tier 4s and Ancient in a single push to complete the comeback.
The third game was a total stomp in favor of the Falcons. They won all three lanes and demolished Team Liquid to win the title.
Sneyking and skiter defeated their old teammate, 33, to win their first title in their new team.
