Team Zero and Azure Ray Upset G2.iG and LGD Gaming
The Chinese regional qualifiers for The International 2024 are underway. An interesting development has occurred in the Upper Bracket.
Team Zero pulled off a massive upset against G2.iG, winning with a 2-1 result. The matches in the series weren’t too interesting, with both teams stomping the first two maps. In the decider, G2.iG had a 4,000 net worth lead at the 14-minute mark, but threw it away and lost in 44 minutes. Team Zero became the first team to reach the Upper Bracket Final.
The second Upper Bracket match of the day featured Azure Ray and LGD Gaming. The two teams previously met in the Riyadh Masters 2024 qualifiers, where LGD easily took the series 2-0. However, Ori displayed an excellent performance in the series, winning it 2-1 after an easy third map.
Now, Team Zero and Azure Ray are the two remaining teams in the Upper Bracket. Since there are two slots for the Chinese region, the two teams will face off against each other for a slot at The International 2024.
Meanwhile, G2.iG and LGD Gaming were sent down to the Lower Bracket. There is no possibility that both will make it to TI.
