The Crownfall Update Has Arrived
After months of waiting, we have finally gotten an update for our favorite game, the Crownfall event. The update comes with two new treasures, 24 sets, and Arcanas for Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage, who are the main characters of the event. However, a gameplay patch is not included in the update.
Event Adventure
Valve has left a message regarding the event:
“Guide Shen and Dragonus through the busy streets of Skywrath in their quest to take back the throne! Interact with a cast of new characters and old favorites, uncover dark secrets, go on outrageous side quests, and occasionally even do a little bass fishing. Gain more rewards the deeper you delve into a detailed, interactive world map.”
Playing and completing quests during the event will reward you with tokens, which can be used to open paths on the event map and advance through the story, receiving rewards as you go. Some examples of rewards include treasuries and bags of candies that can be traded for items such as Arcanas.
Two New Arcanas
Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage are the two heroes with new Arcanas.
You can get them immediately for 35 USD each. However, to unlock their styles, you must complete the main story of the event.
Four Event Acts
On the main menu, it is shown that there will be four parts to the event. Currently, only Act I has been released.
“The Markets of Midgate is just the first act of an ongoing four-act narrative that will span the next few months. You'll be able to play through new acts as soon as they become available, but you can also move through the adventure at your own pace — the introduction of a new act won't close off an earlier one.
Which means you can take as long as you like exploring every possible path, challenge and secret in Act I. And as much as there is to find, this event's just getting started. Crownfall will keep expanding as it unfolds over the coming months, with each new act bringing its own story, characters, a unique overworld map and all-new rewards. There might even be a surprise or two along the way.”
The update does not come with a patch, so the professional Dota 2 scene should remain untouched as ESL One Birmingham 2024 begins in a few days.
