The International 2024 Prize Pool Stuck At $2 Million
Valve has released a very underwhelming compendium for the upcoming The International 2024 tournament, which starts on September 4.
As usual, Dota 2 fans can contribute to the tournament’s prize pool by purchasing the compendium and its levels. However, due to the lack of appeal on this year’s version, the players have only contributed a little over $800,000 in 8 days.
Note that Valve always pitches in $1,600,000 from their own pockets, meaning this year’s prize pool is only at $2,300,000.
The prize pools of The International have certainly fallen off, with last year’s iteration only netting $3,000,000. As we all know, the highest prize pool in Dota 2 and esports history was seen at The International 10, with a mind-blowing $40,000,000 up for grabs.
Is the hype for The International gone already?
