Tundra Esports Square Up Against BetBoom Team In BLAST Slam Finals
We have reached the final stretch in the Blast Slam I tournament, as the Grand Final matchup will feature Tundra Esports taking on the BetBoom Team.
In this new “King of the Hill” format, teams who performed poorly in the Group Stage had to make their way up. It looks like we had a fitting ending, as our two Grand Finalists topped their respective groups and have only played one series in the Playoffs, winning it convincingly.
The BetBoom Team only had to defeat PARIVISION to secure a minimum of a second-place finish. The first map of the series was a comeback after the BetBoom Team took a flawless exchange in the top lane.
In the second map of the series, stand-in gpk~ put in tons of work on his Timbersaw. Though PARIVISION put up a good fight, the map ended in 59 minutes in favor of the BetBoom Team.
Similar to their counterpart, BetBoom Team also only had to win one series in the Playoffs, which was against a promising Xtreme Gaming squad that took out the Gaimin Gladiators.
Unfortunately, the series wasn’t too entertaining as the Nightfall and company absolutely obliterated the Chinese representatives in two 30-minute games.
The Grand Final series between BetBoom Team and the BetBoom Team will be played in a Best of 5 format. It will be a battle between Nightfall and Pure. The betting odds on the series are close to even, so we’ll hopefully get a competitive series and perhaps all five maps.
The winner of Blast Slam I will receive a share of $400,000 out of the million-dollar prize pool, while the loser will be compensated with $200,000 for their efforts.
