Xtreme Gaming and Team Falcons Knock Team Spirit and Team Liquid Down To The Lower Bracket
The two highest-ranked teams in the world prove their worth, securing top-three finishes. Meanwhile, Team Spirit and Team Falcons are sent to their last lifeline in the Lower Bracket.
Xtreme Gaming 2-0 Team Spirit
Yatoro failed to defeat his idol in the Upper Bracket.
The first game of the series started relatively evenly, but Xtreme Gaming utilized their snowball lineup to slowly choke Team Spirit out of the map. Xm displayed a masterclass performance on his Leshrac, going 10/0/14 to help his team take the game in 49 minutes.
Team Spirit had a better start to the second game, coming out of the laning phase with a decent net worth lead. However, Larl and the team could not get anything going in the mid game. The lack of pressure from Team Spirit allowed Ame to freely farm on his Lifestealer, eventually carrying the game with 38,000 net worth and a KDA of 18/0/10.
The TI winners have dropped to the Lower Bracket, where they will play against BOOM Esports in an elimination match.
Team Falcons 2-1 Team Liquid
The final series of the day was an entertaining one, where Team Falcons played against Team Liquid.
In the first map, Nine tried a 24th pick Earth Spirit mid, which did not do well against Nisha’s Sniper. Still, the game was dead even until the 35-minute mark, until miCKe landed a massive Chronosphere to pull Team Liquid ahead. After taking their time, the boys in blue ended the game in 46 minutes.
Having ATF and Malr1ne in the team, skiter had never really gotten the opportunity to play Razor. However, he finally got his chance, and paired with Sneyking’s Io, he went on a rampage. The Team Falcons carry player went 21/1/12 to tie the series.
In the decisive map, Team Liquid baited another Earth Spirit pick for Nine with lane-swapping shenanigans. Nisha got his hands on Sniper again, and miCKe was forced to play Pangolier in the carry role. However, Nine learned from his mistakes and got a solo kill on Nisha at level 2.
The stand-in had a way better game this time around, and immediately found impact around the map. Team Falcons quickly took control of the game and did not give Liquid any room to breathe. Nine ended the game 12/1/23, which was a huge improvement from the first game.
The Liquid boys were sent back to the drawing board, as they will play against G2.iG in the Lower Bracket tomorrow.
