Xtreme Gaming End Team Liquid’s Run At The Elite League
Ame and the team defeated Team Liquid in the Lower Bracket, eliminating them from the tournament. Despite a convincing group stage performance, Team Liquid’s curse remains as they are yet to win an event. This time, the Western European squad exited the tournament in 4th place.
The first map was a total stomp in favor of Xtreme Gaming. The Liquid supports could barely get any work done. Ame played a flawless game on Lifestealer, going 8/0/9, but the MVP of the map was Xm, who dealt the highest hero damage in the 33-minute game.
Team Liquid answered back with a strong performance in the second. After destroying the early game, Liquid grouped up to end the game in only 28 minutes. Xtreme Gaming only managed four kills in the game. Ame’s Lifestealer finished the game 0/1/0, getting no action and participating in zero kills.
In the decisive map, Xtreme Gaming identified that Nisha’s Pangolier would pose a massive problem, as the Pole had been winning with the hero a lot recently. To respond, Xm played Bloodseeker mid, a classic Pango counter. The approach to the third game’s draft worked out well for Xtreme Gaming. Despite having a little bit of trouble in the mid game, the Chinese side ended up winning the map to take the series 2-1.
With this result, Xtreme Gaming will face their former teammates, Azure Ray, in the Lower Bracket Final. The winner of the Chinese derby will have a date with the Falcons in the Grand Final of the Elite League.
