Announcement For TI12 Matches On The 20th Of October
The International 12 is finally back. The playoffs are finally here after a Group Stage filled with exciting matches and shocking upsets.
On the 20th of October, four Upper Bracket matches will be played. No teams will be eliminated, as the losers will be sent down to the Lower Bracket, where they will have one chance remaining. The matches this day will feature:
Team Spirit vs. Virtus.Pro
The first match on the menu is another Eastern European derby. Despite a poor performance in their Group Stage, Virtus.Pro defeated TSM to make it to the playoffs. Unfortunately, they were immediately greeted by the scariest team of the tournament, their big brothers, Team Spirit. Can VP pull off an upset, or will Team Spirit steamroll through the Upper Bracket?
Team Liquid vs. Talon Esports
Up next is a familiar matchup between Team Liquid and Talon Esports. The two teams met in Riyadh Masters 2023 twice, where Team Liquid could win both matches. 23savage is seeking revenge for his mistake in their Upper Bracket match in Riyadh, and now is the perfect time to strike. Will Liquid crack under pressure, or will they hold strong against Southeast Asia’s last hope?
LGD Gaming vs. 9 Pandas
LGD is in TI form, as they demolished their Group Stage to easily make it to the Upper Bracket. Their opponents, 9 Pandas, had a rough journey to the Upper Bracket, where they took down the BetBoom Team in their Upper Bracket match. Though the road has been bumpy for 9 Pandas, they are here in the Upper Bracket and have a real shot at defeating LGD. Will Solo lead his team of youngsters through their first TI?
Nouns vs. Azure Ray
To end the day, we have an interesting matchup, with Nouns being the main subject. Nouns made arguably the biggest upset of the tournament so far, taking down Tundra Esports in 2-0 fashion. However, they are against some of the most experienced players in the scene, with Somnus, fy, and Chalice in the Azure Ray roster. Was their victory against Tundra a fluke, or will Nouns continue to surprise?
