Aurora Ruin Watson’s Debut Tournament With Gaimin Gladiators
Yesterday, the Gaimin Gladiators threw advantages on two maps to lose the series against Tundra Esports, sending them down to the Lower Bracket of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 to face Aurora. Despite still being the heavy favorite, the Western European squad took the fall and got eliminated in 7th - 8th place.
In the first map, the Gaimin Gladiators picked Broodmother for Quinn hoping to end the map early, but the game was dragged on. Aurora had a net worth lead thanks to their Alchemist lineup, but the Gaimin Gladiators became the first team to take two lanes of Barracks.
The game-deciding fight occurred in the top lane at the 57-minute mark, where Aurora managed to take an amazing fight, wiping the Gladiators side, forcing four buybacks and taking two lanes of Barracks for themselves. After resetting and taking Roshan, Aurora marched down with Tier 5 items and ended the game.
The Gaimin Gladiators were able to reset for the second map, with a much cleaner victory. They had full control over the entire game, with watson’s Luna carrying the game, ending the map 10/2/11 with 49,000 hero damage.
However, things spiraled out of control for the Gladiators on the decisive map. Aurora picked a deathball lineup and came out of the laning phase on top, invading the Gaimin Gladiators Triangle very early on, denying any breathing room. TA2000's Luna went out of control, and the Gladiators had to tap out after only 29 minutes.
This result meant the Gaimin Gladiators have been eliminated from BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, spoiling their debut tournament with watson.
