BetBoom Team Handed Technical Defeat In Their Match Against Tundra Esports
On the 5th of July, the BetBoom team defeated Tundra Esports 2-0 in the first round of the Upper Bracket. In the second game of the series, the players had technical difficulties, and the game had to be paused.
The pause lasted a long time, and Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko was seen opening Aleksandr "Nix" Levin, a Bali Major co-broadcaster's live stream on Twitch through the player cameras. Tournament rules prohibit watching broadcasts during an official match, meaning Pure broke the rules in Valve official matches.
The screenshot below clearly shows that Pure is on the Twitch website.
The tournament organizers have decided to hand BetBoom a technical loss, meaning the Eastern European team will go to the Lower Bracket to face Azure Ray. At the same time, Tundra Esports will advance to the Upper Bracket and play against Team Liquid.
Having their win against Tundra reverted also means that BetBoom Team have not secured their invite to The International yet, and will have to make a deep run in the tournament to get their invite.
