Blacklist International and Azure Ray Complete The Bali Major List
The two final teams to qualify for the Bali Major are Blacklist International from the Philippines, and Azure Ray from China.
Blacklist International
From Southeast Asia, Blacklist International claims the third and final slot, stealing it away from Talon, who were the favorites to finish first place in the Summer Tour. Talon’s absence will mean no Indonesian players will participate in the Major held in their country.
Fans had high hopes for Blacklist International the day the roster was formed, crowning them as the Filipino super team. Despite the hype surrounding Blacklist, they struggled to find success in the past two DPC Tours, and Execration have been the Filipino representative instead. After a roster change replacing eyyou for kpii, the team looked much better and found good enough form to make it to the last Major of the season.
Azure Ray
Mid-way through the Summer DPC Tour, Azure Ray were projecting a Top 4 finish in the Chinese DPC, but an unexpected loss against Team Bright forced them into a tiebreaker situation against Xtreme Gaming.
Fortunately, Azure Ray could still defeat Xtreme Gaming 2-1 in the tiebreaker series. After almost a year of waiting, we will finally get to see Chalice, Somnus, and fy back on the biggest stage in Bali. This victory must mean a lot for fy after unfortunately losing his father in the middle of the DPC season—a highly respectable mental comeback from the Chinese veteran.
