DLTV Best Player Awards Of 2023, Position 3: First Place
The two-time TI winner Collapse is the player to receive the Best Off Laner award from DLTV. Team Spirit had a rough first half of 2023, but they finally found form when it mattered, winning three tournaments, two of which had the largest prize money:
- 9th place at DreamLeague S19
- 12th place at Berlin Major 2023
- 5th place at DreamLeague S20
- 1st place at Riyadh Masters 2023
- 1st place at DreamLeague S21
- 1st place at The International 12
Once Team Spirit got in shape, the entire roster started playing near-flawless Dota, yet Collapse could still stand out amongst most of his teammates. The combination of team and personal high results helped Collapse become the best position three player in our list:
- Top 3 Average KDA: 4.07
- Top 1 Average Kills Per Game: 5.41
- Top 2 Average Damage Per Game: 19076
Oddly enough, Collapse's most renowned heroes, such as Axe and Magnus, were not in his three most-played heroes this year. Instead, he spent most of his time playing these heroes:
- Beastmaster (34 Maps, 71% Win Rate)
- Tidehunter (18 Maps, 61% Win Rate)
- Doom (15 Maps, 53% Win Rate)
Fourth on the list is Magnus, with 14 maps and a 67% win rate. For the second time at TI, Collapse utilized great RPs and Skewers to eliminate LGD Gaming two years later.
We think the start of the season didn't work out too well for Team Spirit due to the state of the meta that doesn't match the 21-year-old's playstyle. Collapse was forced to play heroes like Broodmother and Timbersaw, who aren't heroes he is known for. We all love seeing Collapse play his play-making "Blink + Stun" heroes, which we got to see in the second half of 2023.
The stars aligned at Riyadh Masters 2023. Team Spirit was nowhere near considered a favorite in the $15,000,000 tournament, but after that, they posted a 27-win streak with Collapse leading the charge.
