Team Aster Eliminated, BetBoom Qualify For Top Four - DreamLeague Season 20 Fifth Day Recap
We finally say goodbye to one of the top eight teams in DreamLeague Season 20. Team Aster have gone 0-5 after losing to Team Spirit, meaning that it will be impossible for them to make it to the next stage of the tournament.
9 Pandas have also lost their series against Evil Geniuses, putting them at risk of elimination with a score of 1-4. While Aster and the Pandas are struggling, BetBoom currently sits 5-0, guaranteeing themselves a spot in the top four.
PSG.LGD are behind BetBoom with a record of 4-1, allowing them an extremely high chance of making it to the playoffs. The Chinese team is assured at least a tiebreaker to have a crack at the top four.
The remaining teams, Gaimin Gladiators, Evil Geniuses, Talon Esports, and Team Spirit, remain in a close affair. We’re going to see some spicy Dota in the coming days.
Speaking of spicy Dota, here are the games to watch for the fifth day of the second group stage!
Games To Watch
Team Spirit vs. Team Aster - Game 1
In the first game of the series, Aster finally looked good and took a massive net worth advantage, totaling 10,000 net worth at the 22-minute mark. However, even that was not enough for the Chinese team to stand a chance in the tournament, as they threw away their lead and allowed Yatoro’s Anti-Mage to make a comeback into the game.
Team Spirit clawed back into the game and eventually won it thanks to a superb performance from Yatoro and Larl, both having more than 40,000 hero damage to end the game.
9 Pandas vs. Evil Geniuses - Game 2
Game 1 between 9 Pandas and Evil Geniuses was a total stomp in favor of the South American team. It was clear that the Pandas would have to change their approach to stand a chance in Game 2. 9 Pandas were able to drastically improve their draft, with strong laning heroes to prevent themselves from getting run over as they did in the previous game.
Game 2 turned out to be a highly entertaining game, with kills going on left and right. Despite having the lead, 9 Pandas played the game smart and didn’t rush things. They waited for the perfect opportunity to take fights, which helped kiyotaka and the boys claim the second-game victory.
