Xtreme Gaming and IG fight for a Bali Major slot, Azure Ray might steal a slot from the loser
The Chinese division is getting interesting, with the Summer DPC Tour ending on the fourth of June.
Four Bali Major slots are up for grabs in the region, with Team Aster and PSG.LGD booking their tickets already. The two remaining slots will be awarded to two of Xtreme Gaming, Azure Ray, and Invictus Gaming.
Xtreme and IG are 4-2 in the Group Stage, while Azure Ray is 3-3. Azure Ray’s score is lower than the two, but they still have a chance at making it to the Major.
The spiciest part about all this is Xtreme and IG are each other’s final opponents. This matchup means that the winner of the match will directly qualify for the Major with a score of 5-2.
The loser will end 4-3, but it’s not the end of the world for them. Azure Ray’s best outcome is also a score of 4-3, meaning that the loser of Xtreme/IG is guaranteed a tie-breaker match for the final Major spot.
Azure Ray’s final opponent will be Piggy Killer, one of the weaker teams in the division. On paper, Azure Ray has a much better roster, and Piggy Killer will still finish 6th place regardless of whether they win against Azure Ray or not. This series is a must-win for Azure Ray if they want to force a tie-breaker against the loser of Xtreme and IG.
Azure Ray will finish with a score of 3-4 if they lose to Piggy Killer, meaning that both Xtreme and IG will qualify for the Bali Major without tie-breakers being played.
In short, Xtreme Gaming and Invictus Gaming will face off against each other, with the winner directly qualifying for the Major. The loser is guaranteed to play a tie-breaker if Azure Ray wins their match against Piggy Killer. If Azure Ray loses, Xtreme Gaming and IG will qualify for Bali.
