BOOM Esports planned to build a new line-up around Mikoto and Fbz
On a podcast with Leon "Arthur" Lee, the BOOM Esports founder Gary Ongko Putera talked about the formation of the new roster and the signing of ??Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung to the coaching position.
Initially, the new BOOM Esports roster was to be built around 2 players from Indonesia, ??Mikoto and ??Fbz, as they were the best from the previous roster. However, ??Mikoto received many interesting offers from other organizations during the off-season and chose to move to Talon Esports. Because of this, the organization decided to work with Filipino players: ??Yopaj, ??Tims, ??skem, and ??Tino.
When asked about ??Mushi's candidacy as a coach, Putera said that immediately after the Esportsman left Team SMG, the team got advice to sign him. However, they didn't dare to make such a change in the middle of the season. After a new roster was formed, ??skem insisted on working with ??Mushi.
BOOM Esports is currently playing in the DPC: SEA Upper Division. After 3 weeks, the team has a 4-0 statistic and is in first place. At the end of the season, the Top-3 teams from the region will go to the February Major.
