ESL One Stockholm 2022 Day 2 Playoffs results: a sensation at the championship
The second day of ESL One Stockholm 2022 Playoffs has ended. Three teams left the championship, but we knew the participants of the next round of the lower bracket. Here is how the day went!
beastcoast 2:0 Team Spirit
The first game of the day became a sensation. Team Spirit, champion of The International 10, lost with to beastcoast of South America. The result of the match was unexpected not only for the fans but also for our partners BetBoom. They gave odds of 3.96 to win beastcoast.
beastcoast dominated from the very beginning of both maps and didn't give any advantage to their opponent. In particular, ??K1 was surprised by his play, with 27 total frags and only 5 deaths in 2 maps.
Unfortunately, defeat in this round led Team Spirit to only 9-12th place at ESL One Stockholm 2022. It offers no money reward or qualification DPC points.
BetBoom Team 2:1 Team Liquid
The next meeting featured another CIS team, BetBoom Team, which competed with Team Liquid. Even though BetBoom Team bears the name of the BetBoom bookmaker, the organization's analysts remained unbiased and didn't overestimate their team. Before the start of the match, the teams had almost equal odds.
Unlike the first match, BetBoom Team and Team Liquid gave us 3 great maps filled with comebacks. The first map went to Team Liquid, but after BetBoom could pull together and win both of the remaining maps. BetBoom will face beastcoast, who beat Team Spirit, on May 20.
OG 2:0 BOOM Esports
The final match of the day was the confrontation between BOOM Esports and OG. According to the BetBoom bookmaker, the teams were close in skills and had equal odds.
Even though OG doesn't play in the optimal roster, and ??Sébastien "Ceb" Debs plays instead of ??Mikhail "Misha" Agatov, the victory went to them. BOOM Esports of Southeast Asia goes home with nothing.
