Meta Patch 7.31
A little over a week has passed since Valve released patch 7.31 in the Dota 2 client. Teams are actively learning it and discovering its full potential. We decided to look at how the pro scene meta has changed since the last patch.
Most Picked Heroes
- Mars – 137 matches
- Tiny – 121 matches
- Ember Spirit – 111 matches
- Bane – 103 matches
- Death Prophet – 97 matches
- Snapfier – 85 matches
- Templar Assassin – 83 matches
- Kunkka – 82 matches
- Grimstroke – 81 matches
- Queen of Pain – 78 matches
Compared to the previous patch, Tiny clearly stands out from this list. In patch 7.30, he closed the Top-50 in terms of picks, but he is in second place after the patch 7.31 buff. We should note that the number of picks for the other heroes hasn't increased much. All of them were popular before. However, in patch 7.31, Lion and Monkey King dropped out.

Of that list, we'd like to mention Tiny again. He wasn't a threat to teams in the previous patch and was banned rarely. Also, among the most banned heroes, Lina and Weaver are missing in the new patch. Both heroes in the last patch were at the top in terms of the number of bans.

It's too early to compare the heroes' win rate with the previous patch because there were few matches, but we can already see some trends we will follow in the future.
