Ranking of the most expensive independent tournament organizers
Analytical portal Esports Charts evaluated the value of independent tournament organizers that hold eSports events. The top positions of the list are occupied by the organizers who host tournaments on games from Valve. The statistics take into account data from 2020 to 2021 and are based on the number of broadcasts' hours watched.
ESL and PGL take the first 2 lines by a large margin. Both organizers work closely with Valve on CS:GO and Dota 2. Between 2020 and 2021, ESL hosted ESL One Germany 2020, ESL One Summer 2021, ESL One Fall 2021, and several seasons of DPC Regional Leagues. For its part, PGL hosted ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 and helped to organize The International 10.
The EEU region on this list is represented by WePlay Esports, valued at $206 million, and Epic Esports Events, valued at $160 million. In 2021, WePlay Esports partnered with Valve to host WePlay AniMajor, while Epic Esports hosted several seasons of DPC Regional Leagues.
