Tournament plans of ESL to develop the Dota 2 scene
Tournament organizer ESL is preparing a new Dota 2 tournament system for launch soon. The information was shared by journalist Richard Lewis.
According to him, ESL staff presented the idea of a new system of tournaments during the past Lima Major 2023. At its center will be The Riyadh Masters, whose prize pool will be the second after The International. According to the plan, it will last 2 weeks and feature 20 participants.
ESL and Dreamleague tournaments will be the qualifications for The Riyadh Masters. Thus, all the studios' events are combined into one championship system.
- The Dreamleague tournament should take place in Europe. There will be 16 teams to compete for the prize of $1 million and qualifying points.
- ESL One tournament should be held in Thailand. On it, 12 teams will fight for the prize of $1 million. There is no information about the qualifying points yet.
- The final chord of the season will be The Riyadh Masters, which takes place during the festival Gamers8, which starts July 6.
Recall that earlier, the Gamers8 prize pool became known. At the gaming festival, the organizers will award $45 million, but it is still unknown what part of the prize pool goes to the Dota 2 tournament.
